Description
This presentation will discuss the benefits of care coordination for treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). ASD is a complex medical disorder with a complex system of care. These complexities can make providing care in that system difficult for behavior analysts to navigate. Coordination of care is a necessary component to effective ABA treatment and can lead to better outcomes for the client. Common coordination barriers within ABA with parents and caregivers, as well as other treatment team members will be discussed. Strategies Behavior Analysts can use to overcome those barriers including techniques for more effective communication, building rapport, managing conflicts, and better defining roles in care will be reviewed.
