Educational Goal
Description
Racial trauma is often conceptualized through overt incidents of discrimination, yet many clients experience cumulative harm through chronic exposure to microaggressions, code-switching, workplace isolation, and cultural invalidation. This presentation examines the emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and physiological impact of racial trauma and explores practical interventions counselors can implement in everyday clinical practice. Participants will learn how to recognize less visible manifestations of racial stress and strengthen culturally responsive treatment approaches.
