Description
This presentation explores how substance use disorders (SUDs) and eating disorders (EDs) intersect in clinical practice. Participants will explore the underlying factors that contribute to their co-occurrence and gain insights into effective strategies for integrated treatment and recovery. They will examine the underlying biological, psychological, and environmental factors that contribute to their co-occurrence and diagnostic overlap. Clinicians will gain practical, evidence-based insights into integrated assessment and concurrent treatment strategies to improve recovery outcomes for complex clients.
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:

Analyze at least three biological, psychological, and environmental factors contributing to co-occurring substance use and eating disorders.

Identify at least three warning signs and symptoms of co-occurring substance use and eating disorders during clinical assessment.
