Description
Many individuals with eating disorders do not realize the physical suffering they experience is a direct result of the eating disorder behaviors. Because these disorders often masquerade as other conditions, providers and patients may pursue unhelpful, and sometimes harmful, treatment strategies. This presentation reviews the broad array of pain commonly faced by patients with eating disorders, both before and during treatment. Strategies for education, treatment, and referrals will be addressed.
