Educational Goal
Description
Trauma does not end with the individual who experienced it, research now shows that traumatic events can and do impact subsequent generations. However, the mechanisms by which this occurs can feel very mysterious, and leave both clinicians and clients wondering what it really means that trauma is inherited. This course will offer a user-friendly exploration of the biological mechanisms of intergenerational trauma transmission, so that clients and care providers can better contextualize, treat, and heal from its lived reality.
