Description
Eating disorders represent a unique intersection of physical and behavioral health. In this hour, we will explore an overview of the most common medical complications associated with eating disorders and how they impact a multidisciplinary treatment plan. Furthermore, we will investigate the current norms in eating disorder care and discuss the importance of tailoring all aspects of the treatment journey to the unique needs of each individual we serve.

Stuart Kaplan, MD, MBA, FAAP
Dr. Stuart Kaplan is a highly experienced physician specializing in eating disorders and patient advocacy. As Medical Director for The Meadows, he oversees and shapes the organization’s medical services for eating disorder treatment. Prior to this role, Dr. Kaplan served as a Medical Consultant at The Meadows Ranch, where he trained medical professionals in eating disorder care of women and teen girls and promoted a team-oriented, value-driven culture.
His leadership experience includes key roles at renowned organizations such as Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders, Veritas Collaborative, and Camp Mak-A-Dream. Dr. Kaplan earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Columbia University and an MBA from the University of Amsterdam. Dedicated to clinical excellence and compassionate care, he is committed to improving treatment experiences for individuals with eating disorders and their families.
