Presenters

Jon G. Caldwell, DO, PhD
Dr. Jon Caldwell is a board-certified psychiatrist and clinical research investigator who specializes in the treatment of adults who are healing from relational trauma and addictive behaviors. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer of The Meadows. His theoretical perspectives are heavily influenced by his PhD training at the University of California at Davis, where he began researching how early childhood maltreatment and insecure attachment relationships affect cognitive, emotional, and social functioning. His clinical approach has become increasingly flavored by the timeless teachings of the contemplative traditions and by the daily practice of mindfulness. Dr. Caldwell has published a number of articles on child maltreatment, attachment theory, emotion regulation, and mindfulness. He is also a noted international speaker and trainer on these and other topics.
Deirdre Stewart, LPC, SEP, BCN
Deirdre Stewart is the Director of Trauma Resolution Services for The Meadows. She holds a BA in communication from Pepperdine University and a Master of Science in Counseling from The University of New England in New South Wales. She has trained at South Pacific Private in Sydney, Australia; Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut; and Family Behavioral Health in Boca Raton, Florida. Before returning to the U.S. in 2008, she worked in private practice at Hong Kong Psychological Services. A licensed professional in the State of Arizona, Deirdre is board-certified in neurofeedback and trained in traditional and somatic attachment-focused EMDR, Somatic Experiencing (SE), and master-level Neuro Affective Relational Model (NARM). She also co-facilitates Pia Mellody’s Post Induction Therapy Training and Inner Child/Feeling Reduction Intensives, helping individuals address deep-rooted trauma and emotional healing.
Tian Dayton, PhD, TEP
Dr. Tian Dayton is the director of The New York Psychodrama Training Institute, where she leads training in psychodrama, sociometry, and experiential group therapy. She was Caron Treatment Centers’ director of program development for eight years, held the same role at Breathe for four years, and taught psychodrama at NYU for eight years. A fellow of the American Society of Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy (ASGPP), Dr. Dayton sits on the Scientific Advisory Board for the National Association for Children of Alcoholics (NACoA) and has received ASGPP’s Scholar’s Award and President’s Award. She served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy for 10 years and executive editor for eight. She has also received The Mona Mansell Award and The Ackermann Black Award for her contributions to addiction treatment. A frequent media expert, Dr. Dayton has appeared on NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Montel, Ricki Lake, and Geraldo. She has authored 15 books, including Neuropsychodrama in the Treatment of Relational Trauma, The ACoA Trauma Syndrome, Emotional Sobriety, Trauma and Addiction, and The Magic of Forgiveness. Her writing has been featured in The Huffington Post and Thrive Global. Her films include The Process, a 73-minute award-winning psychodrama docudrama, as well as Adult Children of Alcoholics, Trauma and The Body, and Healing Childhood Abuse through Psychodrama. She is also a certified Montessori teacher.
Georgia Fourlas, DSW, LCSW, LISAC, CSAT-S
Dr. Georgia Fourlas is the Executive Director of Rio Retreat Center at The Meadows and brings over 20 years of experience in behavioral health. She has worked extensively with adults and children as a crisis counselor, trauma therapist, and addictions therapist. Holding both a master’s degree and a doctorate in social work, she has spent more than a decade in inpatient settings across state and privately funded agencies. Dr. Fourlas has also held leadership roles, including program coordinator, program director, and clinical director, and is an approved clinical supervisor by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. She employs an eclectic blend of theoretical perspectives and creative approaches to therapy, designed to engage both motivated and resistant patients, maximizing the potential for personal healing and growth.
Stuart Kaplan, MD, MBA, FAAP
Dr. Stuart Kaplan is a highly experienced physician specializing in eating disorders and patient advocacy. As Medical Director for The Meadows, he oversees and shapes the organization’s medical services for eating disorder treatment. Prior to this role, Dr. Kaplan served as a Medical Consultant at The Meadows Ranch, where he trained medical professionals in eating disorder care of women and teen girls and promoted a team-oriented, value-driven culture. His leadership experience includes key roles at renowned organizations such as Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders, Veritas Collaborative, and Camp Mak-A-Dream. Dr. Kaplan earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Columbia University and an MBA from the University of Amsterdam. Dedicated to clinical excellence and compassionate care, he is committed to improving treatment experiences for individuals with eating disorders and their families.
