Description

Unplanned career change can trigger uncertainty, grief, and a loss of identity. Yet, it can also be an opportunity to reimagine your professional life in alignment with your strengths, values, and aspirations. In this interactive webinar, you will learn to navigate career transitions using principles from Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and Appreciative Coaching (AC), two evidence-informed positive psychology frameworks that focus on what’s working, what gives life, and what’s possible. Whether you are processing recent changes or proactively preparing for an uncertain future, this session offers a hopeful, action-oriented path forward.

Presenters

Throughout decades of service in high-intensity correctional settings, Dr. Tamara Lyn (Tammy) developed unique insights into all aspects of leadership. She served in many clinical and executive roles in the Federal Bureau of Prisons, culminating in the role of Warden, where she was one of a very few women in the position. Working as a Warden during the COVID pandemic, Tammy developed deep insights into crisis management, fostered psychological safety, and modeled resilience and emotional intelligence. Tammy is the founder of High Ready Coaching and Consulting, offering executive coaching to leaders and teams in high impact, high stakes careers such as law enforcement and public safety. She takes a strengths-based approach, combatting burnout and disengagement with interventions to build resilience and ground leaders in their core values. Tammy holds a master’s and doctorate in psychology from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and graduated with honors from Harvard College in Cambridge, MA. She was twice elected to Fellow status in the American Psychological Association for “unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in the field of psychology,” and served on the APA Board of Directors from 2022 to 2024. She is Board certified in organizational and business consulting psychology and is certified by the International Coaching Federation. She shared her fascinating career in corrections in, “The Surprising Journey from Psychologist to Warden,” published in Psychological Services, an APA journal, in December 2022. She is the author of the forthcoming Gen Z’s Guide to Careers in Law Enforcement.
