Description

This presentation examines how contemporary addiction science, evidence-based clinical practice, and long-established recovery principles can be integrated into a comprehensive model of care. Participants will explore addiction as a chronic biopsychosocial-spiritual disorder, review current neuroscience related to recovery, examine the importance of executive functioning and long-term brain healing, and discuss evidence supporting Twelve-Step Facilitation alongside other recovery pathways. Special attention is given to family involvement, recovery support systems, co-occurring disorders, and practical clinical strategies that improve long-term recovery outcomes.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this workshop is for participants to gain a broader understanding of how evidence-based addiction treatment, recovery science, clinical practice, and recovery wisdom can be integrated into an effective long-term model of care.
