Susan Cooley

Dr. Susan R. Cooley has a Ph.D. (Virginia Tech) and a M.A. (University of Louisiana at Monroe) in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been a therapist for over 27 years. I have a solo practice on Prytania St. In New Orleans. I work primarily through teleheath.

I offer services to individuals, couples, families, and groups utilizing systemic therories.

I host two free grief support groups via telehealth in the community. These occur on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm and the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10:00 am - 11:30 am. Clients in need to contact me before attending their first meeting.

I have taught at the graduate level at local universities (UNO, Xavier of Louisiana, and Our Lady of Holy Cross College). I've served as the Director of Seton Hall University’s COAMFTE accredited Master's Marriage and Family Therapy program in Greensburg, PA.

I, also, have served as the Clinical Director at the McFarlane Institute Pastoral Counseling Center (Baptist Memorial Hospital). As Executive Director, I ran the Trinity Counseling and Training Center. Both organizations were in New Orleans, LA.

As a Clinicial Counselor, I provided couseling to active duty military personnel and their families. This work continues as a Tricare provider.

As a Supervisor, I proved supervision to PLPCs in Louisiana.

Additionally, I have presented workshops to international, regional, state, and local conferences and organizations.
