About
Marc Kantor was raised in Long Island, NY, and graduated from American University in 1996. Before joining the behavioral health field and becoming an interventionist, he spent 20 years in commercial real estate, where he was a top performer.
Marc attended treatment at the Betty Ford Center for his addiction to prescription drugs and alcohol in 2004. He began training to become an interventionist in 2014 and summarily earned his credentials as a Certified Intervention Professional (CIP) the same year.
In 2018 Marc relocated to Boca Raton, Florida, with his wife and their teenage daughter. Later that year, he founded South Florida Intervention to help individuals struggling with addiction find their way back to health and purposeful life. Since then, Marc has helped countless people and their families recover from the seemingly hopeless disease of addiction.
Marc is the author of How to Do an Intervention; A Step-by-Step Guide for Parents, a member of the National Association of Treatment Providers (NAATP) and the Association of Intervention Professionals (AIS). He has previously held board seats at several nonprofit organizations, including CrisisLink, the crisis and suicide prevention hotline for Washington, D.C., and Active Minds, which seeks to normalize the discussion of mental health on almost 600 college campuses.
