About
Kathy Flaminio, LGSW, MSW, E-RYT 200, is the founder and CEO of movemindfully® and the creator of its training, workshops, products, and curricula focused on trauma-responsive mind-body practices. Kathy’s work supports educators, mental health professionals, youth workers, and families in cultivating self-regulation, focus, and overall well-being through accessible mind-body practices.
With a master’s degree in social work, Kathy brings decades of experience working in both general and special education within Minneapolis Public Schools and has also served as adjunct faculty at Saint Mary’s University. Her work bridges education, mental health, and embodied practices, with a deep commitment to meeting people where they are.
Kathy has partnered with leading healthcare organizations—including M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital, United Hospital, St. Paul Children’s Hospital, and Center for Families Outpatient/PrairieCare—to implement trauma-responsive practices in child, adolescent, and adult mental health settings.
She is the co-author of Moving Mountains: An Integrative Manual to Help Youth with Intensity, Reactivity, and Anxiety and a contributing author of the Teen Resiliency Program, developed with Dr. Henry Emmons, Dr. Timothy Culbert, and colleagues
Her mission is to support public mental health by creating practical, inclusive, and compassionate pathways for healing through the mind-body connection.
