About

Dr. Jess Bartley PsyD, MSSW, LP, LCSW, CMPC (she/her) joined the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee in 2020 as senior director of psychological services. A licensed psychologist, clinical social worker, and Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC®) with AASP, she has served on the American Psychological Association's Division 47 executive board and is currently on the ISSP Managing Council.

Dr. Bartley earned a B.A. in government and sociology, an M.S. in social work from the University of Texas, and an M.A. in sport and performance psychology, as well as a Psy.D. in clinical psychology, from the University of Denver. She completed a fellowship at the Eating Disorder Center of Denver, developing treatment programs for athletes with eating disorders. Her experience includes working with collegiate athletes at Denver, North Carolina, and Ohio State, and providing mental health and performance services for USA Karate, USA Track & Field, the Colorado Ballet, and PBR athletes.

Her expertise covers athletes’ mental health issues—depression, anxiety, eating disorders, body image, substance use—as well as performance anxiety, motivation, and sport transition. She bases her approach on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), incorporating Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), all with a focus on multiculturalism.
