Jabina Coleman

Jabina G. Coleman, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, reproductive psychotherapist, and international board-certified lactation consultant advancing maternal and infant health equity. She is widely known for her signature reminder: “Everyone wants to hold the baby, who will hold the mother?”

Jabina is a Health Equity, Training, and Quality Improvement Consultant, leading initiatives to reduce bias in healthcare and improve maternal health outcomes. She serves as a PCORI-funded Co-Investigator and institutional-level lead on the Change of HEART five-year clinical trial at Temple University, focused on reducing cardiovascular disease risk among Black women and birthing people. Her work integrates simulation-based learning and interprofessional development to equip healthcare teams with the skills to deliver equitable, respectful, and culturally responsive care.

Jabina is Co-Founder of BAE Culture (Breastfeeding Awareness & Empowerment) and Co-Founder of the Alliance for People of Color, a program within Postpartum Support International, both dedicated to strengthening community-based support, workforce development, and culturally responsive care for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities.
She currently serves as Chair of the Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Coalition, advancing statewide efforts in policy, education, and access to care. Jabina is a Doctor of Health Science candidate at Thomas Jefferson University and a national leader at the intersection of clinical care, research, and community-based practice—leading the redesign of care systems to center equity, accountability, and outcomes.
