About
Dan Meyer, LPC. LAC, ASAT, has held several positions within Valiant Living, including roles in housing, case management, detox and assessment center therapist, and as a primary therapist. Currently, he serves as the Lead Therapist for Valiatn Living Mens Program. Dan is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) through the Colorado School of Family Therapy. He is also an Associate Sex Addiction Therapist (ASAT) certified by the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction (IITAP).
Dan is passionate about working with men struggling with addictions, particularly those facing intimacy disorders. He firmly believes that addiction often leads to intimacy issues, as addicts are hesitant to let others truly see them. With this perspective, Dan is dedicated to understanding the whole person and is committed to addressing sex addiction, which he views as a highly misunderstood disease that deserves attention and discussion. He supports men who struggle with issues such as lack of empathy, compassion, and vulnerability, as well as the fear, shame, and guilt associated with their addictions, whether substance-based or process-oriented.
Before joining the Valiant team, Dan spent 26 years as an elementary teacher, a high school athletics coach, and an athletic administrator at the high school level in Indiana. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Ohio University and a Master of Science in Counseling from Indiana University.
