Ben Carrettin

Ben Carrettin is a nationally board certified counselor, nationally board certified master addictions counselor and licensed professional counselor - supervisor with over 25 years of experience treating addiction and mental health.

Initially inspired by his own life experiences and those of his family, Ben began helping adults and families with addiction recovery; working with both traditional and non traditional recovery approaches.

Now, he has over 25 years of specialized, clinical experience working with cancer patients and their families, organ transplant patients, addiction recovery, pre-surgical anxiety, post-surgical pain management, serious and terminal illness, medical trauma, grief and bereavement, and critical incident stress management / traumatic events.

He has also works closely with families of addicts, peace officers and first responders who have experienced traumatic events, survivors of suicide (SOS), and other complicated life transitions.

Throughout his career in the recovery industry, Ben has held various positions, including clinical director at an private medical detox center, program director of a concierge residential treatment center, psychotherapist at various in-patient, PHP and OP facilities, and as an executive ESI consultant for private businesses. He has also worked in behavioral managed care, medical-behavioral business development and as voir dire consultant.

Ben is honored to have the opportunity to work with people at such a powerful time in their lives when they have reached a crossroads with the potential for incredible health and change. He is passionate about constantly expanding his understanding and ability to help people find their own unique path toward recovery. He is dedicated to each of his patient’s sobriety journey as well as their whole life recovery; addressing their emotional, recovery and relational health needs.

Ben earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Saint Thomas and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Texas Southern University.

In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the great outdoors and discovering new cuisines and cultural experiences. He is passionate about the Olympic Games and enjoys live soccer, local theater, opera and music.
