Participants will learn the building blocks of Cognitive Behavioral Analysis Systems of Psychotherapy (CBASP).

Description

 Participants will learn the components of CBASP, an acquisition learning model of therapy designed for chronically depressed individuals. The components of CBASP that will be focused on include: Situational Analysis (SA) and Interpersonal Discrimination Exercises (IDE). This session will also look at the Impact Messaging Inventory (IMI) and how this can help us as therapists.

Presenters

Lee Long, EdD, LPC-S

Dr. Lee Long, LPC-S, with more than two decades of experience, is known for his extensive work ranging from juvenile detention centers, psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient care. Currently, he is the CEO of Restoration, a multi-site outpatient practice in North Texas. Dr. Long integrates evidence-based methods to assist those battling depression, addiction, suicidal ideation, and other mental health concerns. His academic pursuits led him to a doctorate in Counseling, focusing on Traumatology, preparing him to address the complexities of mental health with individuals and groups alike. Dr. Long is a certified CBASP Supervisor and Trainer. He has worked alongside the founder of CBASP, Dr. James P. McCullough, Jr., in beginning the dismantling of the Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy, and their work is published in the Journal of Cognitive Therapy and Research. As a seasoned therapist and scholar, Dr. Long is committed to ongoing learning, patient care, and mentoring the next generation in effective mental health practices.

Lila Long Pond, LPC-S

Lila Long Pond, LPC-S received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing and master’s degree in professional counseling. As Licensed Professional Counselor-

Supervisor, Lila also serves as the Chief Culture Officer at Restoration Counseling in both Dallas and Fort Worth.


Lila’s clinical work focuses on helping individuals, couples, and families effectively resolve issues that hinder growth and healthy relationships. She is experienced in: working with blended families,  individuals who have experienced trauma, and women struggling with infertility as well as antepartum and postpartum depression. She is proficient in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and is certified in: Post Inductive Therapy (PIT), Prepare-Enrich premarital counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Lila brings many practical and professional skills to the counseling session

through a multitude of techniques and experiences, and she is passionate about helping people live authentic lives free from false expectations and ideals that society often imposes upon them.

 

In addition to her clinical work, Lila is a frequent speaker at various women’s events, and she mentors parents and peers. She also co-authored A Father’s Hand, A Mother’s Heart: Leaving a Legacy of Faith with her late husband of 36 years, with whom she had 8 children.
