Educational Goal
Description
This training offers an in-depth clinical overview of postpartum psychosis (PPP), covering its prevalence, risk factors, and clinical presentation. Participants will learn to identify PPP symptoms, distinguish it from related conditions, and understand its association with bipolar spectrum disorders. The training addresses assessment, medical workup, treatment approaches, and the serious risks of untreated PPP, including suicide and infanticide, and how to differentiate psychotic, depressive, and OCD-related thoughts of infant harm.
