Educational Goal
Description
This presentation offers a clear and practical framework for interpreting the complex, overlapping presentations commonly seen in youth with anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. Participants will learn to apply a transdiagnostic lens to identify core drivers of impairment, clarify primary versus secondary diagnoses, and distinguish anxiety-based symptoms from depression, ADHD, trauma reactions, avoidance patterns, and family-system dynamics. These insights will be translated into actionable, individualized treatment plans with emphasis on functional impairment, family engagement, and sequencing care across outpatient, intensive, and residential settings. Attendees will leave with concrete strategies to guide assessment, improve referral alignment, mobilize avoidant or treatment-resistant youth, and support sustainable clinical progress for both young people and their families.
