Educational Goal
The educational goal of this workshop is to enhance understanding of psychosis, develop effective communication skills to build the therapeutic alliance and implement practical therapeutic techniques and strategies to navigate challenges in therapy while promoting recovery and resilience.
Description
This workshop will equip therapists with practical engagement strategies for promoting positive treatment outcomes for patients who experience psychosis. We will introduce nuanced and multifaceted therapeutic approaches to engage with patients who experience psychosis to help them to feel understood and build rapport. Participants attending this workshop will gain confidence and skills to engage and support their patients effectively, ultimately leading to improved therapeutic outcomes and overall positive benefit to their patients. Lunch is included and provided concurrently with the workshop.

Presenters
Amber Parden MD is an adult, perinatal, and child and adolescent trained psychiatrist. Dr. Parden has extensive experience working with patients experiencing psychosis. She has training experience in a Navigate/First Break Psychosis clinic for newly diagnosed psychotic illness, CBT for psychosis, and motivational interviewing. Dr. Parden is currently in private practice at Synchronicity MD Psychiatry & Therapy and is starting a community nonprofit for services and resources in our community called Clarity Through Community.
