Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Participants will learn how to integrate couples play therapy for couples who have experienced a variety of issues such as infidelity, poor communication, lack of intimacy among other prevalent issues. Couples play therapy and expressive art interventions will be demonstrated for counselors who work with couples.

  • Participants will be able to articulate theoretical foundations underlying working with couples and develop a play therapy orientation for work with couples.

  • Participants will be able to identify interventions using play therapy that will enhance their work with couples during the counseling sessions.

  • Participants will have the knowledge of how to use play therapy to assess couples for the appropriate interventions.

Description

This presentation will address the issues inherent to couples who present with various issues during the counseling process by providing play therapy and expressive art interventions.
