Description
This presentation explores the vital role of family engagement in supporting meaningful treatment outcomes for individuals living with Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Participants will examine the importance of healing for both the individual and their family support network, while exploring diverse pathways that guide the recovery process and strengthen resilience. We will identify common symptoms and stages of the disease and delve into the wellness domains most affected by active addiction. This workshop will address foundational principles that guide best practices in working with individuals impacted by substance use disorder, as well as engaging their support system.

Presenters
Jessica Dinbokowitz is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Maryland Board Approved Supervisor, and Clinical Lead of the family program at Ashley Addiction Treatment in Havre De Grace, MD. In her role, she ensures the delivery of high-quality clinical services within Ashley’s in-person Family Program for families and individuals who are impacted by substance use disorder, focusing on direct service delivery, family engagement, group facilitation, educational presentations, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Jessica previously served as a School Based Clinician providing mental health counseling to children and adolescents, as well as their families in the school system. She is deeply passionate about helping families grow, heal, and recover together, fostering connection and resilience throughout the recovery process.
Kisha Taylor, LCSW-C, is a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical with over seven years of experience supporting individuals through some of life’s most challenging moments. With a Master’s degree from the University of Maryland, Kisha brings both professional expertise and a deep commitment to helping others navigate the complexities of addiction, grief, and recovery.
At Ashley Treatment, Kisha plays an integral role in providing care to those in need, offering education on the disease of addiction and the relapse process to help patients find hope and healing. She is passionate about empowering others to achieve self-awareness, personal growth, and a healthier outlook on life.
Kisha firmly believes in the power of supportive, patient-centered care and works to create an environment where recovery is not only possible but sustainable. Her approach is structured and compassionate, focusing on the unique needs of each individual to promote recovery and harmony in their lives. Kisha has a particular interest in working with those experiencing grief, offering empathy and guidance to help individuals navigate their emotions and find peace after loss.
