Description

Professionals have educated coaches and athletes for decades about the dangers of disordered eating and under-recovery from exercise; however, athletes continue to develop eating disorders and REDs at an alarming rate. This talk aims to broaden the discussion by addressing cultural concerns and seeks to revolutionize conversations about athletes and eating disorders by digging deep into the roots of these illnesses. The presenter will identify sociocultural factors impacting the development of disordered eating in addition to provide concrete strategies for protecting humans while fueling optimal performance.
