The educational goal of this course is to increase knowledge of The Oxford House Model, which is an innovative, evidence-based model that effectively supports long-term sobriety.
Description
This course will review the Oxford House Model, a self-run, self-supported recovery housing model, that has defied conventional wisdom for 49 years. It offers a unique and effective pathway to sustained recovery from addiction, empowering individuals to reclaim their lives through peer support, self-governance, and collective responsibility. The Oxford House Model offers a fresh and compelling perspective on addiction recovery, and it is supported by a robust, rigorous research base demonstrating its effectiveness on long-term sobriety. This course will also review real-life examples of individuals who have transformed their lives through the Oxford model.

Presenters
Jackson Longan, NCPRSS is a nationally certified peer recovery support specialist (NCPRSS) that began working for Oxford House, Inc., in 2007. As an Outreach worker in Oklahoma, he led the opening of over 35 new Oxford Houses. As a Regional Manager, he supervised over 40 employees in 9 states, with a network of 500 houses. Now the Director of Communication and Information, Jackson wears many hats. As part of the Executive Team, he collaborates with the legal department, crafts transparent and compliant documents, oversees data collection and analysis, and acts as a liaison between the organization and the World Council. Additionally, Jackson leverages his communication skills through public speaking, workshops, and training facilitation while managing public relations and media inquiries. He earned an associate's degree in Enterprise Development from Oklahoma State University and a bachelor's degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. When not traveling and exploring, Jackson enjoys photography, disc golf, graphic design, and anything related to sciĀ fi/fantasy - especially Star Wars.
