Educational Goal
Description
When a client is struggling and not responding to treatment interventions, it is a common impulse to focus first on treating observed behavior through the lens of their working diagnoses. In this two-part webinar, we address and explore the most important questions to ask: Is our client’s primary working diagnoses coloring their treatment? Is this an accurate representation or are we missing something? Do we need to reconsider their diagnoses and how do we explore new diagnoses? What do we do to improve treatment planning and therefore client response. Through the use of case examples, careful review of psychological assessment findings, and engaged group consultation, this webinar will focus on not just improving our understanding of misdiagnosis, but on developing practical tools and skills for intervention. Session One is on Wednesday, October 15th, followed by Session 2 on Wednesday, October 22nd.
