Gambling behavior has been studied for several decades, and the risks associated with gambling are well known. Yet, over the past decade, the legal landscape of gambling in the U.S. has changed dramatically, bringing unprecedented access to this risky behavior. This course will explore how the gambling landscape has changed over the past decade, with a particular focus on sports gambling.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this course is to provide clinicians and educators with an up-to-date overview of gambling in the U.S., with a particular focus on the risks associated with novel forms of gambling.

Joshua B. Grubbs, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of New Mexico, where he specializes in the study and treatment of behavioral addictions.
