Description
Suicide risk increases with substance use. A Peer Support Specialist must be prepared to recognize warning signs and discuss suicide with those they serve. Self-harm may appear to be a suicide attempt, but it can be a means of coping for many. This workshop is designed for Peer Support Specialists to learn their role in suicide prevention, how to recognize signs of self-harm, and how and when they should refer to higher levels of care.
