Join us for this educational session to learn how to give strong recommendations for on-time HPV vaccination. The Announcement Approach Training, a proven method for increasing HPV vaccination, teaches health care providers and professionals how to make and support strong HPV vaccination recommendations. The training includes: Reviewing evidence on HPV vaccination and presumptive announcements, Building skills for using announcements and counseling hesitant parents, and, Practicing the application of these skills with peers.

After the training, participants will be able to apply and implement the announcement approach in clinical settings where HPV vaccination is recommended and administered.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Summarize current clinical evidence regarding HPV and the HPV vaccine.

  • Formulate a clear, on-time HPV vaccination recommendation announcement that addresses parental vaccine hesitancy.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of HPV and communication and response techniques through interactive role-play exercises.

Educational Goal

After the training, participants will be able to apply and implement the announcement approach in clinical settings where HPV vaccination is recommended and administered.

Presenters

Metee Comkornruecha, MD
Dr. Metee Comkornruecha is a Board Certified Pediatrician and Adolescent Medicine physician with over twenty years of experience practicing Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. He is originally from Memphis, Tennessee. He received his Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He obtained his Medical Doctorate from University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed his Pediatric residency and Adolescent Medicine fellowship at Miami Children's Hospital in Miami, Florida. He was Chief of the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. His interests include Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Reproductive Health, and Eating Disorders.
