Description
This continuing education course explores spirituality as a core dimension of human functioning that influences cognition, emotion, motivation, behavior, and meaning-making across the lifespan. Participants will examine current interdisciplinary research from neuroscience, biology, psychology, anthropology, social psychology, religion, social work, and spirituality to better understand the relationship between spirituality, mental health, and well-being. The course emphasizes evidence-informed, culturally responsive approaches for integrating spiritual considerations into behavioral health assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment planning while remaining within professional ethical and scope-of-practice guidelines.
