Description

Measurement-based care has become a gold standard in behavioral health, yet it often prioritizes numerical outcomes over the lived experience of clients. In this workshop, Dr. Dyben of Hanley and Michael Giresi will explore how trauma-informed practice demands integration of subjective client experience alongside objective measures. Attendees will gain practical tools to apply data-driven approaches without compromising empathy, dignity, or the nuanced realities of trauma recovery.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this workshop is to enhance clinicians’ ability to integrate measurement-based care with trauma-informed practices that honor client subjectivity. Participants will be introduced to practical frameworks and interventions to humanize data collection and improve outcomes for trauma-affected individuals.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Define measurement-based care and its applications within trauma-informed treatment frameworks.

  • Analyze how centering subjectivity within data-informed care improves treatment engagement and outcomes for trauma survivors.

  • Describe at least two limitations of purely objective metrics when working with trauma-affected populations.

Target Audience

  • Addiction Professional
  • Counselor
  • Marriage & Family Therapist
