Explain how to engage the natural support system through positive interaction.

Identify at least two ways to help clients and families reduce blame, shame and guilt.

Describe at least two strengths-based coaching techniques to assure clients and families that they have the strengths and resources to heal and recover.

Explain how to assist clients and families understand and change their role in each the following: Risk of use, addiction and behavioral compulsions, destructive behaviors preventing relapse and long-term recovery and healing and changing intergenerational patterns

The educational goal of this session is to learn about the role of family in the healing process.
Description
In this session, we will discuss the role of family in risk, recovery, and healing when working with families. Participants will learn why families are important in the healing process and the role of the Recovery Specialist in how to support positive family interaction through strengths-based coaching.
