Description
The goal of this presentation is to help providers expand their understanding of trauma and the mind-body connection in response to trauma, including the use of substances to cope. We will discuss how to promote post traumatic growth versus decline utilizing the concepts of neuroplasticity. Multiple methods of treating trauma and substance abuse will be covered as a means of expanding options available to both providers and the clients they serve. Objectives: Redefining trauma while understanding neuroplasticity and its application with trauma and addiction Recognizing post traumatic growth and post traumatic decline Gain a better understanding of addiction and how to improve outcomes in trauma treatment
