Denise Potter, RDN, CDCES

Denise has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) for 34 years. For the past 18 years she has focused on Ketogenic Medical Nutrition Therapy (KMT). In 2016 she founded Advanced Ketogenic Therapies and has developed a team of experienced ketogenic dietitians specializing in KMT. She has been privileged to speak to, train and educate professionals and individuals around the globe on ketogenic therapies. She strives to provide client-centered, personalized therapy, counseling, and education. Denise has a passion for helping underserved populations benefit from the ketogenic diet. She authored The Migraine Diet: A Ketogenic Meal Plan for Headache Relief.

Nicole Laurent, LMHC

Nicole Laurent is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 15 years of experience helping individuals recover from mental illness. She specializes in ketogenic metabolic therapy, with peer-reviewed publications examining its applications in clinical psychology and nutrition. Nicole offers an NBCC-certified training program to help psychotherapists professionally support individuals as non-prescribing metabolic psychiatry practitioners. She educates both the public and professionals on utilizing ketogenic therapies to enhance psychiatric care, integrating clinical practice with the latest research in metabolic psychiatry.

Matthew Bernstein, MD

In addition to being a respected clinical psychiatrist for more than 20 years, Dr. Matt Bernstein is Accord’s chief executive officer and one of the leading voices in the emerging field of metabolic psychiatry. After graduating summa cum laude from Columbia University in New York, N.Y., with a bachelor’s degree in English literature, he received his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Bernstein then trained at the MGH McLean Psychiatry Residency Program in Belmont, Mass., where he served as chief resident. He remained at McLean Hospital after residency as a psychiatrist-in-charge and later served as assistant medical director of its schizophrenia and bipolar inpatient program. Dr. Bernstein has developed his passion for community-based care as the chief medical officer at Ellenhorn, a sister program of Accord, where he has pursued alternative ways (such as a focus on metabolism, nutrition, circadian-rhythm biology and exercise in brain function) to help individuals achieve their best levels of functioning without relying solely on traditional psychiatric approaches. In addition to serving on the clinical advisory board at Metabolic Mind, Dr. Bernstein is known for organizing the first-ever public conference on metabolic psychiatry in 2023.

Beth Zupec-Kania, RDN, CD

Beth A. Zupec-Kania, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, owner of Ketogenic Therapies, LLC, began her career as a clinical hospital dietitian prescribing ketogenic diets for individuals with epilepsy and has been a private consultant since 2006, for individuals with neurological, endocrine, cancer, and psychiatric disorders. Beth has authored numerous consumer and professional education media including Ketogenic Diet Therapy for Neurological Disorders Pocket Guide. She’s trained over 300 medical centers and co-designed Keto Mastery Therapeutics, a live and virtual training for medical professionals. She’s the architect and owner of KetoDietCalculator©, an online software program for calculating and managing ketogenic therapies, a consultant to The Charlie Foundation, an advisory board member of the following non-profits: International Neurologic Ketogenic Society, Keto Live Europe, Metabolic Mind, Glut1 Deficiency Foundation, AnorExic and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
