Description

This training equips counseling interns, associate-level clinicians, and therapists under supervision with strategies to maximize the benefits of both individual and group supervision. Participants will learn the purpose and structure of supervision, including its role in clinical growth, ethical practice, and client safety. The course covers practical expectations such as preparation, professionalism, and openness, while exploring supervision formats and best practices for case staffing, administrative questions, and personal well-being check-ins. Through collaborative discussion and actionable guidance, attendees will gain tools to enhance clinical skills, navigate challenges, and foster professional development in a supportive environment.

Presenters

Julia Spain, LPC is the owner of Core Balance Counseling, LLC and has over 23 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She holds a BS in Psychology from Arizona State University and a Master of Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Julia specializes in CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Mindfulness, and is passionate about mentoring new clinicians through supervision, training, and ongoing support. She maintains a clinical caseload while also leading a weekly women’s DBT and meditation group, facilitating regular in-service trainings, and supporting interns, associate-level providers, and independently licensed clinicians. Julia also offers training and consultation for new clinical supervisors and therapists launching private practices. A native of Arizona, she integrates her love of wellness, people, and nature into her therapeutic work and leadership.
