The educational goal of this workshop is to increase knowledge about levels of care in mental health and how to determine the appropriate level of care.   

Description

This presentation will introduce participants to the levels of care in mental health. We will describe each one, discuss the benefits and limitations of each level, and explain how professionals can assist in determining the level of care.

Presenters

Lindsey Collins Conover, PhD

In collaboration with the University of Cincinnati & TPN.health

Dr. Conover is a Psychologist and member of the OCD and Anxiety Treatment Team at the Lindner Center of HOPE. She has expertise in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for children and adults with OCD and anxiety disorders. She serves as a therapist for patients with OCD and anxiety disorders and provides specialized OCD consultations on the two residential units, Sibcy House and Williams House. She also provides outpatient therapy services for children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to direct clinical services, Dr. Conover is involved in unit staff trainings on ERP.

 

Dr. Conover completed her postdoctoral clinical psychology fellowship at the Lindner Center of HOPE. During her fellowship, she provided individual therapy for patients with OCD and anxiety disorders on the residential units. She completed her APA accredited predoctoral internship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in the Child/Adolescent Track. During her internship, she provided outpatient CBT, psychoeducational assessments, and intake evaluations to children, adolescents, and young adults. She also participated in multidisciplinary PANS/PANDAS diagnostic evaluations as a behavioral specialist. Dr. Conover earned an M.S. and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Binghamton University (SUNY). As a member of the Binghamton Anxiety Clinic, she conducted diagnostic interviews and provided ERP and CBT for patients with OCD and anxiety disorders. She also conducted clinical research on the treatment of OCD.

 

In addition to receiving specialized training in ERP for adults and children with OCD, Dr. Conover’s clinical experiences have included conducting psychoeducational and autism evaluations (ADOS-2) and providing family, individual, and group psychotherapy. She has experience using cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based interventions, parent management training, and social skills training. Dr. Conover enjoys working with patients across the lifespan.

 

Dr. Conover has published several scientific papers on exposure therapy for OCD and childhood risk for OCD. She also co-wrote a chapter on the efficacy and theory of various psychotherapy approaches for OCD in Psychotherapy: The State of the Science and Practice (2018). She has served as an adjunct reviewer for the Journal of Anxiety Disorders and Journal of Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders.
