  • Identify and compare LLC, PLLC, S-Corp and Nonprofit business structures.

  • Identify which business structure is most appropriate for their future private practice.

  • Identify and compare private pay, sliding scale and insurance claims pay structures.

Educational Goal

In this module, participants will be able to comprehend fundamental business concepts that equip and enable them to begin operating a legitimate private practice.

Description

Unfortunately, many graduate counseling programs are void of any formal business training. This often leaves many future (and current!) private practice owners at a deficit! Additionally, there is an overload of information available which sometimes makes it difficult to discern the accuracy. Furthermore, there is sometimes a disconnect between what we know and what we actually do! This module is designed to be a hands-on training that participants will leave with having the 5 basic components of beginning their private practice endeavors.*It is highly encouraged that participants complete the training in its entirety before the start of operations!
