Educational Goal
Description
This course explores the integration of Somatic Experiencing® (SE) principles into the treatment of Binge Eating Disorder. Participants will learn how trauma-related disruptions in the nervous system contribute to restrict/binge patterns and how SE techniques can support recovery by expanding capacity for self-regulation. Using real- world clinical examples, the training highlights interrupted trauma responses (fight, flight, freeze) and how they manifest in addictive behaviors. Emphasis will be placed on practical strategies—such as titration, pendulation, body tracking, and resourcing—that clinicians can use to support clients in cultivating resilience and reducing reliance on maladaptive coping mechanisms.
