Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Summarize how childhood trauma presents through the lens of inner child healing work and discussion of interruptive father/mother/environmental wounds.

  • Analyze inner child, outer child, and adult schemas within the context of wound repair and ego stabilization.

  • Identify preventional and interventional modalities for each schema of the inner child.

  • Apply learned Inner Child Healing knowledge to real-life case scenarios and specialty practices within the mental health fields of addiction, recovery, and wellness.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this workshop is to educate participants on how to heal the adult self through examining past childhood trauma experiences and applying adaptive behaviors for over wellness.

Dr. Charity Godfrey is originally from South Jersey and brings her direct, pragmatic approach to her clients therapy through applying bibliotherapy (The use of literature to process stress/life traumas), EMDR therapy, CBT, and/or Inner Child Healing Work. Charity has over 13 years of clinical experiences counseling: adolescents, adults, couples, and families in various therapeutic settings for: Couples in Crisis, Addiction, Mental Health Diagnoses, Trauma, and Grief. Charity specializes in INNER CHILD healing work through the use of Bibliotherapy, which provides context for the healing journey of inner child, outer child, and adult self. 

 

Charity graduated from Walden University with a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC 15667 and Qualified Supervisor for Clinical Mental Health Counselor Interns, EMDR trained, Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider (C-IMHP), and a Nationally Certified Christian Counselor (NCCC).
