This dynamic panel discussion brings together experienced clinical leaders to explore innovative and evidence-informed approaches to treating substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders across the full continuum of care—from Residential Treatment (RTC) to Outpatient (OP) settings. Panelists will share insights on emerging practices, integrated treatment models, culturally responsive care, technology-enhanced interventions (e.g., telehealth, digital tools), and strategies to improve engagement, retention, and outcomes for diverse populations. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how innovation can be implemented in real-world clinical environments, while maintaining fidelity to best practices, person-centered care,
and regulatory standards.

Presenters
Terri Ward is a functional nutritionist, writer, and speaker specializing in gut health and the mind-body-spirit connection. She holds a Master of Science in Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine from the University of Western States and is a Certified Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP).
As a contributor to The Epoch Times, she writes evidence-based health guides examining the role of diet, lifestyle, and mindset in disease development, along with natural and complementary approaches to wellness. Terri also provides personalized nutrition consulting through her private practice, with a focus on gut health, inflammation reduction, and stress management.
She takes a functional approach to identifying root causes of health challenges, working in collaboration with other professionals to support clients' overall well-being. Her work complements behavioral therapy by offering an evidence-based perspective on how nutrition, gut health, and lifestyle factors influence emotional resilience and mental well-being.
Kimberly Cox is a distinguished professional in the healthcare business and clinical sectors, boasting over two decades of leadership experience across various programs. Her career highlights include pivotal management roles, leading to her current position as the Director of Clinical Services at Pathways. She has a proven track record in enhancing business communications and fostering inter-agency collaborations. Her tenure as Clinical Director at Country Road Operations, a Pathways affiliate, is marked by exceptional leadership in clinical program management and achieving a 100% compliance audit rating from the State of Oklahoma. Respected by peers, coworkers, and clients alike, Kimberly continuously hones her leadership skills to excel in her field. Her academic background is equally impressive, with a Master’s degree in Business from the University of Phoenix, a Master’s of Science in Psychology from Cameron University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.

David Hendricks, MD, FASAM
Dr. David Hendricks has been practicing medicine for over 24 years. He is board certified in both Addiction Medicine as well as Emergency Medicine, and he has extensive experience as a medical director for both detox and residential facilities as well as emergency departments. He has served Medical Director roles at both High Watch and Mountainside and is currently the co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Pathfinder Recovery, a new primarily-telehealth treatment program operating out of MA, CT, and VT that offers safe, clinically-aggressive, highly-individualized, and technology-powered virtual ambulatory detox as well as group and individual virtual therapy, peer recovery coaching, MAT, and long-term aftercare.
He believes in a holistic and integrative approach to addiction; with the understanding that addiction is a chronic disease, he feels the best treatment comprises medication management as well as talk and integrative therapies. He also believes in helping families to understand how addiction is a large component to maintaining sobriety in his patients. He practices both medication assisted treatment as well as abstinence, believing that the best treatment is one that helps the client on their path to recovery.
Dr. Malasri Chaudhery-Malgeri, known as Dr. Mala, serves as the Chief Clinical Officer at Recovery.com, where she oversees the creation and dissemination of impartial research, resources, and more, aimed at those seeking recovery support and connections to care. As a seasoned psychologist and holistic healthcare practitioner, Dr. Mala possesses deep expertise in a wide range of areas, including TBI, PTSD, Military Psychology, Marriage & Family Psychology, Rehabilitative Therapy, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Her holistic approach has benefited diverse clientele, including military personnel, executives, political figures, rural and indigenous communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, athletes, and families. In addition to her executive role, Dr. Mala is the CEO and Founder of The Synergy Center and is a renowned motivational speaker and presenter.
Gary Katz, LCSW, CSAT, CPTT is a psychotherapist and founder of The Center for Intimacy Recovery in New York, which focuses primarily on intimacy and relationships. He has found that without a sense of intimacy with one’s self, people can’t fully experience intimacy with someone else. The Center for Intimacy Recovery helps clients find ways to have the intimacy and connection in life they are seeking and to uncover all the ways that they have learned to play it safe and protect their hearts, which at times can get in the way of intimacy. Prior to opening this practice, Gary worked in education for over 20 years and as a rabbi.
Dori Haddock, LCSW, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Natural State Recovery Centers (NSR). Before joining NSR, she served as the Regional Director at Bradford Health, where she launched the organization's first program in Arkansas in 2014. In 2020, Ms. Haddock partnered with CHI St. Vincent hospital to introduce the CHI St. Vincent Addiction Recovery Program (ARP) in collaboration with Bradford Health, establishing the first of its kind in Arkansas. A licensed Clinical Social Worker, Haddock has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and the foster care system, and has developed several programs for young women.
In addition to her new role, she is the Chairwoman of the Board at The Wolfe Street Foundation and serves as a board member for the Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault and LevelUp Recovery. Appointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson in November 2019, she is also a member of the Arkansas Alcohol and Drug Abuse Coordinating Council. Her exceptional contributions were recognized in 2023 when she was honored as one of the "Most Remarkable Women in Arkansas" and received the Recovery Leadership Award from The Wolfe Street Foundation.
