Description
This is a Title IV-E Child Welfare sponsored conference which aims to serve a twofold purpose. It will empower those serving vulnerable children and families with knowledge and skills for personal growth and development; while also it provides knowledge and strategies that are useful in influencing and increasing change and success in children and families. Well established and knowledgeable presenters will share their expertise in areas to include: working with African American boys and families, establishing bonds through cultural rituals, practicing diversity and inclusion, self-care, advocacy with domestic violence survivors, social work ethics, ADHA, strategies for maintaining compassion, utilizing critical thinking in social work, strategies for empowering young adults, and ways to transform minds to shine. Through these innovative and motivating approaches, helpers will be rejuvenated and empowered to empower children and parents to work toward improved outcomes.
Additionally, this conference provides an opportunity for graduating BSW and MSW social work students to reveal their knowledge and presentation skills. Each of the four workshop sessions will include a workshop presented by graduating students.
