Educational Goal

The educational goal of this workshop is for participants to be able to better assist clients who are experiencing pregnancy loss grief and the trauma inherent in those situations.

Description

Pregnancy loss is a complicated grief process that individuals go through including being a form of disenfranchised grief. Statistics and reports of individuals that have experienced this type of trauma prove that it is more pervasive than many in the general public are aware. Utilizing Worden's model of The Tasks of Mourning, this presentation seeks to assist with outlining the grief process and potential interventions to use with individuals who are experiencing different types and aspects of pregnancy loss.

Presenters

Megan Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona who has found niche areas of specialization throughout her career. One of those areas has been in working with complicated grief and pregnancy loss grief in particular. Megan has spent time as an adjunct professor in addition to working in direct services with clients. She also mentors associate level licensees and interns to help them find their own therapist identity.
