Information

Date & Time

Description

This presentation explores how parents’ nervous-system responses shape family interactions and influence patterns of connection and conflict. Participants will learn to recognize escalation cycles, regulate their own responses during difficult moments, repair relational ruptures, and model healthier emotional regulation. Practical, trauma-informed strategies will help parents respond with greater awareness, flexibility, and connection while supporting a more regulated family system.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this presentation is to increase knowledge about how parents’ own nervous-system responses affect family interactions, including recognizing escalation cycles, regulating during conflict, repairing ruptures, and modeling healthier emotional responses.

Presenters

Dave Albert is an LCSW, QS, EMDR Trained clinician who has worked with families and adolescents for over ten years. He has worked in a leadership capacity at Family First, a male adolescent residential facility, working closely with dysregulated teens, and supporting families through some of the toughest times in their lives. Dave has worked with all types of adolescents and families, through a complex trauma lens, to support greater understanding and connection between each member within the familial system. His experiences has provided him with the understanding and knowledge of how greater support and connection within the family starts from the top, and a teen will struggle to regulate themselves within the family system if the parent is not regulated.
