Description
The Family Empowerment Project aims to proliferate the use of Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) model. CRAFT is the only evidence-based program to assist families that are challenged by addiction. It uses an overall positive, non-confrontation approach. CRAFT is a culturally sensitive program that works with families to positively influence the behavior of a loved one with an active addiction. This workshop will teach new skills to cope with old problems. Some of the components include positive reinforcement, communication skills, and allowance of natural consequences. CRAFT research has shown that almost 7 out of 10 people who use the program facilitate their substance user to attend treatment. Presented by Brian Serna, LPCC, LADAC – an approved CRAFT clinician, supervisor, and trainer.
