Description

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a safe and effective treatment for patients with treatment-resistant depression and other psychiatric conditions, offering an alternative to therapies such as ECT and ketamine. Despite its growing use, many clinicians lack a clear, practical framework for when and how to integrate TMS within the broader continuum of care.

This three-part CME series addresses this need by guiding participants from foundational concepts, such as TMS mechanisms and patient selection, to advanced skills like interpreting clinical outcomes and evaluating evidence across protocols. The final segment focuses on managing clinical complexity in special populations.

By combining scientific evidence with real-world application, the series equips clinicians to counsel patients effectively, determine when TMS is appropriate, and incorporate it into individualized, patient-centered treatment plans—supporting more informed, evidence-based decisions and improved clinical outcomes.
