Description
American families are constantly morphing, and most will have contact with the Family Court system at some time. Mental health professionals can offer their expertise to help families cope with changes with minimal trauma. This rewarding interdisciplinary work allows us to serve families in transition have a more humane experience in the legal system.

Presenters

Leslie Todd, LCSW, ACSW is the founding President of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, Louisiana Chapter and has served for twenty years as a child custody evaluator, parenting coordinator and court-involved therapist, and provides trainings nationally.
Ann M. Ordway, JD, PhD, NCC is the College Academic Director of Counseling for the University of Phoenix. Prior to entering the counseling world, Dr. Ordway was a family law attorney in New Jersey for many years. Her practice focused on high conflict divorce, domestic violence and child protective services matters. She is a trained mediator and parenting coordinator. Ann is a counselor educator. Her research, presentations and publication have been focused on court-involved work for counselors and mental health professionals, law and ethics, and multicultural awareness. She’s actively involved with American Counseling Association, the Association for Creativity and Counseling, the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, as well as the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, with membership in the Arizona and Louisiana chapters. She is the current president of the Arizona counseling Association. Ann lives in Gilbert Arizona with her husband, the two youngest of her nine children, and a golden retriever named Holly.
