The educational goal of this workshop is to increase knowledge about risk assessment and risk reduction.

Description

This program will focus on the legal and administrative risks for providers, with a focus on Chemical Dependency/Pain Treatment Center providers and Intervention providers. Participants will be introduced to risk assessment tools and learn strategies and techniques to reduce risk exposure. It will include a review of the legal demands for reporting child abuse.

Presenters

David "Mick" Meagher, Esq.

Mick Meagher is an attorney in California. He received his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. Prior to entering law, he spent 17 years in Chemical Dependency Treatment.  Mick wrote Beginning of a Miracle: How to Intervene with the Addicted or Alcoholic Person. (Health Communications, Inc. 1987).  He has guided over 2200 Interventions, training over 5,000 professionals to establish Intervention services.
