In this presentation, “Ethics and Influence: Leveraging Advocacy for Business Development Growth and Clinical Success,” we will explore how merging strong ethical principles with advocacy can help business development and clinicians spark positive change to help your organization. We will examine the role of advocacy in shaping policies, increasing public awareness, reducing stigma, and how these efforts contribute to improved treatment standards and access to care. We will dive into Ethics and Compliance and discover how you help create industry policies, work with public perception, and boost your organization’s visibility. We will also discuss how ethical advocacy aligns with social responsibility and creates meaningful community impact. By examining both past and current legislation, this session will equip you with practical strategies to use ethics and advocacy for growth and a lasting impact.

Presenters

Nikki Soda is a highly accomplished advocate and strategic marketer with a strong background in the behavioral health field. She possesses an MS in Addiction Policy from Georgetown University and has amassed over 10 years of experience in this domain.

Passionate about advocacy and public policy, Nikki actively engages in local and national initiatives to make a meaningful impact. Currently the Executive Director of Soda’s Consulting, she utilizes her addiction policy knowledge to help treatment centers get involved in public policy. Recently serving as the Director of Membership and State Advocacy for the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP), she leverages and consults her expertise to lead productive discussions with industry leaders and conducts comprehensive tours of treatment centers nationwide. Through these experiences, she has gained a profound understanding of the substance use disorder treatment landscape.

Nikki has excelled in various leadership roles, including Director of Business Development and Marketing for renowned treatment facilities. In addition, she has overseen multiple alumni programs while currently serving as co-president for the board of the Treatment Professionals and Alumni Services (TPAS). Her diverse responsibilities in creating and managing a treatment center start-up have honed her skills in admissions, policy development, procedure implementation, and business growth. As a result, Nikki has built an impressive reputation and is frequently sought after for client placement recommendations and policy guidance.

Brandy Price Klingman is the CEO of St. Christopher’s Addiction Wellness Center and Legacy Behavioral Health in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Brandy has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Louisiana helping thousands of patients break the chains of addiction and overcome mental health issues for over 10 years. She has developed programs and organizations that focus on treating the whole person and allowing patients to grow and flourish in a distraught society. Brandy is also a coveted speaker in academia presenting on topics ranging from group psychotherapy to health care policy, a specialty of hers after working in Washington, DC on policy reform. She continues to pass the torch to future mental health and addiction treatment leaders by being a role model, mentor and supervisor for innumerable residents, masters-, and doctoral-level students.
