|

Information

Date & Time

Description

This session offers a focused examination of how AI is reshaping psychosocial and integrative oncology nursing, from the tools already running inside clinical systems to the ethical, environmental, and equity-related risks that accompany them. Participants will hear from an experienced AI and automation engineer working in high-stakes healthcare systems alongside a nurse researcher whose work centers the patient-provider relationship and the ethical obligations of the profession.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Analyze the intersection of AI and psychosocial oncology, specifically identifying how AI can be leveraged to support trauma-informed care and patient connection without replacing human empathy.

  • Evaluate the ethical and environmental risks of AI integration, including algorithmic bias and the ecological footprint, to advocate for technology that is both socially equitable and planet-centered.

  • Formulate clinician strategies for emotionally intelligent AI development, empowering clinicians to act as essential stakeholders in policy-making, curriculum design, and the procurement of resilient digital infrastructure.

The educational goal of this workshop is for attendees to leave with practical strategies to evaluate AI tools critically, advocate for equitable implementation, and position themselves as essential stakeholders in the AI decisions being made in their organizations right now.
