Participants will gain understanding of abortion and how to discuss it with clients.
Description
Abortion is a common and safe medical procedure, with 1 in 4 women having one over their lifetimes. Despite this, abortion is still a taboo topic. With legislation limiting abortion advancing nationally and at the state-level, professionals and clients alike are thinking about this important issue. This workshop will discuss using a reproductive justice lens to discuss abortion with colleagues and clients in order to provide nonjudgemental, supportive care.

Presenters
Brittany Hunt is a licensed clinical social worker in New Orleans with a passion for social justice. She has worked with survivors of sexual assault in clinical, medical, legal, and military settings, and as a case manager for people seeking abortions. Brittany is a graduate of the Tulane School of Social Work and currently works as the Clinical Director at TPN.health.
