-
Explain how to apply evidence-based workflow strategies (e.g., smart alerts and caseload tracking) to streamline documentation processes and reduce administrative burdens.
-
Explain the potential improvements in patient safety and quality of care that can result from effective caseload management and optimized documentation workflows.
Educational Goal
Description
Managing large caseloads while delivering high-quality patient care is increasingly challenging in today’s healthcare environment. Excessive administrative tasks and inefficient documentation processes force clinicians to spend substantial time on non-clinical duties, detracting from direct patient interaction and compromising care quality. This session will examine the factors that contribute to difficulties in managing caseloads, such as high clerical burdens, inefficient EHR systems, and uneven workload distribution. Drawing on evidence-based research, including studies that demonstrate how excessive time on administrative tasks leads to burnout and adverse patient outcomes, the panel will discuss strategies—such as implementing smart alerts, effective caseload tracking, and workflow management tools—to streamline documentation, reduce errors, and improve overall patient care.
